Can you use a Star Baby Wrap in a 5-point car seat harness?

Can you use a Star Baby Wrap in a 5-point car seat harness?

So we get asked a lot, how and if you can use the Star Baby Wrap in a 5-point harness.

In recent review from The Car Seat Expert, you can see how to strap your baby safely into the car seat using either a 3 or 5-point harness.

Using a 3 -point car seat:-

  • Place the baby in the Travel Wrap ensuring the straps are level with, or just above, their shoulder
  • Push the buckle through the hole in the crotch
  • Once the baby is in the seat, buckle them up securely as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Test the harness. You should be able to fit no more than two fingers between the collar bone and harness, if you can tighten the straps.

Using 5 -point car seat:-

  • Due to the nature of the star design, the straps also work, in a 5-point harness. Just like the instructions for a 3-point, you need to feed the stapes through the hood / shoulder holes
  • Once the baby is in the seat, buckle them up securely as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Test the harness. You should be able to fit no more than two fingers between the collar bone and harness, if you can tighten the straps.
  • The straps around the waist will have to go over the wrap, because there are no holes around the waist. Please ensure, that the fleece is not too bunched up. The fleece is thin so when laid flat it is no thicker than a cloth nappy would be.

The Baby Star Wrap is suitable for use in both forward and rear facing positions and was car crash tested on a Maxi Cosi Pebble.

Your baby’s safety remains your responsibility – always strap them in carefully, and securely following your car seat manufacturers recommendations.

We always recommend you buying the right size Baby Star Wrap for your baby, to avoid any material bunching up and interfering with the car seat harness.

If you are not using an ISOFIX base, then please ensure the Baby Star Wrap is tucked out of the way so that the car seat can work correctly in, the event of a collision.

The wrap can be used in two ways: -

  1. You can wrap your baby up, and feed the straps through the hood / shoulder holes and push the buckle through the hole in the crotch
  2. Or you can lay the wrap out, feed the straps through and lay baby in to buckle up

From Home, to pram, to car, to sling, to trolley..... all made possible by a STAR!
